RIP Daisy

In May 2023, this sweet Thoroughbred mare was rescued from Bowie by a wonderful person. Little did we know, this was her second time being saved. Her registered name was "Parade Charade" and her sire was Dixieland Band.  She raced until she injured her right pastern then became a broodmare.

She raised 11 of her own foals, producing a number of graded stakes winners. Daisy was rescued from a horrible situation and went on her second journey of becoming a beloved nurse mare raising orphaned foals as her own.

Daisy  came to Starr D Ranch Horse Sanctuary to recuperate  after suffering from a severe hock infection. She was immediately welcomed into the herd by The Big Crew. Daisy and Aurora knew each other as they were at Bowie the same time and were happy to reunite. They were inseparable while she was here. "Cousin Daisy" went on to her forever home in VA and was loved by her new herd family and her owner. She knew absolute love until her final breath. Run free sweet girl.
